Registered Nurse Emergency Room

Job Summary:

Provide high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced Level 2 trauma and comprehensive stroke center. Deliver compassionate, efficient patient care while collaborating effectively with the multidisciplinary team to ensure optimal patient outcomes.

Responsibilities:

• Assess, plan, and implement urgent and emergent patient care in a high-volume emergency department.
• Perform advanced procedures and utilize department equipment, including GE monitors and Baxter pumps.
• Document patient information accurately in the Cerner system, ensuring timely updates and compliance.
• Exhibit proficient knowledge of ED protocols, including triage, cardiac monitoring, and behavioral holds.
• Maintain flexible staffing to meet department needs, including working every other weekend and floating within ED sections.
• Demonstrate respectful, patient-centered behavior aligned with hospital standards such as AIDET.

Qualifications:

• Hold a current RN license with at least 2 years of experience, including 1 year in an ER setting.
• Possess current ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, CPI, NIHSS, and ENPC certifications (within 90 days of hire).
• Demonstrate experience in trauma, stroke care, and high-volume EDs exceeding 100,000 visits annually.
• Exhibit strong teamwork skills and the ability to mentor and provide real-time feedback to colleagues.
• Show flexibility and competence to work across all areas within the ED environment.
