Registered Nurse IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provide high-quality nursing care to cardiac step-down patients in a specialized telemetry unit. Utilize clinical expertise to monitor and manage critically ill patients with cardiac conditions, ensuring safety and continuity of care.

Responsibilities:

• Assess patient conditions and implement customized care plans based on clinical needs.
• Monitor and interpret telemetry readings, titratable IV medications, and cardiac devices.
• Administer medications such as nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, insulin drips, and heparin.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to provide comprehensive patient care and respond to emergencies.
• Document patient progress and interventions accurately in the EMR system.
• Educate patients and families on procedures, medications, and illness management.

Qualifications:

• Valid and current RN license with Medicare approved credentials.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in step-down or progressive care units.
• Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac medication management.
• Experience working with prostacyclins (e.g., Flolan, Veletri) is preferred.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Flexibility to float across Med Surg, COVID, ER holding, and other units as needed.
