Registered Nurse IMC​/PCU​/Stepdown

Job Summary:

Provides specialized cardiac step-down nursing care to patients with complex cardiovascular conditions, ensuring optimal patient outcomes. Utilizes advanced clinical skills to monitor, assess, and implement individualized care plans for stable to critically ill cardiac patients.

Responsibilities:

• Observe and interpret patient vital signs and cardiac rhythms to detect changes requiring intervention.
• Administer and titrate cardiac IV medications such as nitroglycerine, Cardizem, amiodarone, dopamine, and insulin drips.
• Perform bedside procedures including cardioversion and assist with post-procedure care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and adjust patient care plans based on clinical assessments.
• Document patient interactions, assessments, and interventions accurately in the Cerner EMR system.
• Maintain a safe and compassionate environment adhering to unit policies and infection control protocols.

Qualifications:

• Valid RN license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent step-down or progressive care experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency in telemetry monitoring and cardiac IV medication management.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
• Ability to work flexibly in a fast-paced healthcare setting.
• Experience with prostacyclins (Flolan, Veletri, Remodulin) and relief charge preferred.
