Job Summary:

Provide specialized orthopedic nursing care to post-operative and inpatients, ensuring optimal recovery and patient comfort. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver high-quality, compassionate care in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments to orthopedic patients according to doctors' orders.
• Monitor and assess patient conditions, including vital signs and recovery progress.
• Perform wound care, dressing changes, and staples/sutures removal adhering to clinical protocols.
• Educate patients and families on post-operative care, mobility, and rehabilitation needs.
• Document patient information accurately in the electronic medical record (Cerner).
• Collaborate with physicians, physical therapists, and other healthcare team members for care planning.

Qualifications:

• Valid North Carolina nursing license required.
• Minimum of 2 years of recent hospital orthopedic nursing experience.
• BLS certification required; additional certifications preferred.
• Ability to work efficiently in a high-pressure, team-oriented environment.
• Demonstrated skill in wound care, medication administration, and patient education.
• Strong communication and compassionate caregiver attitude.
