Registered Nurse – Progressive Care Unit (PCU) | Travel Contract

Asheville, NC | Progressive Care Unit (PCU / Stepdown)

Contract | Travel | 13 Weeks | Night Shift (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM) | Every Other Weekend Required

• Provide direct patient care on a 44-bed Progressive Care Unit with a patient ratio of 4:1 (up to 5:1 when stretched)
• Perform neuro and spinal checks, C-collar placement, and TLSO brace management
• Manage chest tubes, PCA pumps, IV infusions, lumbar drains, and feeding tube placement
• Administer blood transfusions and operate patient lift equipment including Skylift systems
• Document and manage patient care using Cerner EMR
• Float to stepdown and med-surg units as needed

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Required
  
  Certifications:
  
  ACLS, BLS, and NIHSS — candidates without these will not be considered
• Minimum 2 years of RN experience
• Neuro and trauma care experience
• Proficiency with IV pumps, PCA pumps, chest tubes, and tracheostomy care

• Strong background in neuro and trauma care within a progressive care or stepdown setting
• Experience with Cerner EMR
• Team-oriented, patient-focused approach to care delivery

• Work in a well-staffed, structured unit with a consistent grid model supporting both day and night shift teams
• Gain valuable experience in a high-acuity progressive care environment with diverse procedural exposure
