NICU | Registered Nurse | 13-Week Travel RN Contract - Asheville, NC NICU Registered Nurse (RN) Travel Nursing Job in Asheville, North Carolina

Join a collaborative neonatal care team as a NICU Travel Nurse in a 51-bed Level III NICU in Asheville, NC. This on-site travel nursing assignment offers the opportunity to care for critically ill and medically complex newborns alongside experienced neonatal nurses, respiratory therapists, charge nurses, and support staff. Asheville is a vibrant mountain community known for its scenic Blue Ridge Mountain surroundings, thriving arts scene, welcoming downtown, distinctive restaurants, and abundant outdoor recreation.

• Weekly Estimated Pay: $1,680-$1,770
• Start Date: October 19, 2026
• End Date: January 18, 2027
• Schedule: Three 12-hour shifts per week, approximately 6:45 a.m. to 7:15 p.m.
• Weekend Rotation: Every other weekend
• Unit: Level III NICU with 51 beds
• Patient Ratios: Approximately 1:1 to 1:4, based on patient acuity
• Documentation: Cerner electronic medical record
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs
• Floating: Pediatric, PICU, and Mother-Baby units as needed, with Mother-Baby assignments limited to newborn care

• Current, unrestricted Registered Nurse (RN) license eligible for practice in North Carolina
• At least 1 year of recent NICU nursing experience; 2 years of Level III or higher NICU experience preferred
• Stable Program certification preferred
• Strong neonatal assessment, critical-thinking, and patient-prioritization skills
• Detail-oriented, organized, and adaptable approach to neonatal patient care
• Ability to work collaboratively with nurses, providers, respiratory therapists, and support staff

• Provide specialized nursing care to premature, critically ill, and medically complex newborns in a Level III NICU
• Perform comprehensive neonatal assessments, monitor clinical status, and promptly recognize changes in patient condition
• Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized neonatal care plans
• Administer medications and treatments safely while following neonatal dosage and patient safety protocols
• Support respiratory, developmental, nutritional, and family-centered care plans
• Collaborate with the interdisciplinary healthcare team to coordinate care and promote positive patient outcomes
• Educate and support parents and caregivers regarding newborn care and treatment plans
• Accurately document assessments, interventions, and patient responses in Cerner
• Maintain a safe, organized clinical environment and follow unit policies and professional nursing standards
• Adapt to floating assignments when needed while maintaining high-quality newborn and pediatric care
