American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Observation Unit position requiring telemetry certification and BLS.

• Work in a 20-bed Observation Unit within a hospital setting
• Day shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 4 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 HUC
• Night shift staffing includes 1 charge nurse, 3 RNs, 2 PCTs, and 1 HUC
• Patient ratios are 1:5 (stretch 1:6) on day shift and 1:6 (stretch 1:7) on night shift
• Uses telemetry monitoring equipment and Baxter pumps
• EMR system is Cerner/Power Chart
• Shift runs from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Floating required to other med-surg levels of care including trauma, renal, adult medicine, neuro, ortho, spine, and general surgery units

• Active RN license (NC or Compact) currently in hand
• Current BLS certification required
• Telemetry certification required
• Med-Surg certification preferred
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in telemetry/observation nursing required
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US SSN and DOB required for consideration (no Canadian SSN accepted)
• One professional reference required

• Provide telemetry monitoring, foley insertion, and IV starts for observation patients
• Best suited for outgoing, team-oriented candidates who thrive in a fast-paced environment
• Dress code requires all navy, all white, or white top with navy bottom scrubs
• Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
