American Traveler is hiring an RN for a high-volume Level II trauma center Emergency Department requiring 2 years of nursing experience and multiple specialty certifications.
Details- Level II trauma center and comprehensive stroke center Emergency Department with 101 beds
- High-volume ED with over 100,000 annual visits
- Patient ratios typically 4:1 medical, up to 7:1 on behavioral health holds
- Support staff available including cardiac monitoring techs, triage techs, and unit clerks for days and nights
- Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors
- Documentation via Cerner
- Night shift schedule, 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Every other weekend required, no block scheduling available
- No floating outside the ED, but must be flexible to float to all sections within the ED
- Active RN license (NC or Compact)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, ENPC
- CPI certification required before start date
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience, including at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Prior experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (>100,000 visits) preferred
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
- US Social Security Number and DOB required for consideration
- Deliver patient-centered emergency care using AIDET and respectful communication practices
- Keep patient information boards updated and provide ongoing updates to patients throughout their visit
- Must demonstrate teamwork, flexibility, and the ability to coach and give real-time feedback
- Department known for strong teamwork and a welcoming culture serving a multicultural community with over 120 languages spoken
- Navy scrubs required as part of the dress code
- Attendance policy provided on first day
- RTO and special scheduling requests will not be accommodated
- Position includes holiday coverage
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; no local candidates accepted
