American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Dept position at a Level II trauma center requiring at least 2 years of RN experience including 1 year in an ER setting.
Details- Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center emergency department with 101 beds and over 100,000 annual visits
- Patient ratios typically 4:1 for medical patients, up to 7:1 for ED behavioral holds
- Supported by techs in cardiac monitoring and internal processing areas, triage, and unit clerks on day and night shifts
- Uses Baxter pumps and GE monitors for patient care
- Charting completed in Cerner
- Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM with every other weekend required
- Scheduling is flexible and based on departmental needs; block scheduling cannot be accommodated
- No floating outside the ED, but flexibility to float to all sections within the ED is required
- Active RN license (NC or Compact)
- Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, and ENPC prior to consideration; CPI required before date of hire
- Minimum 2 years of RN experience with at least 1 year in an ER setting
- Experience in a Level II trauma center, comprehensive stroke center, or high-volume ED (100,000+ visits) preferred
- Previous HCA experience preferred
- Strong teamwork orientation with ability to coach and provide real-time feedback
- Flexibility to work in all areas of the ED
- No employment gaps of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
- Deliver emergency nursing care across all areas of a high-volume, high-acuity ED
- Maintain patient experience standards including AIDET, respectful communication, and consistent patient updates via visit boards
- Required uniform consists of navy scrubs
- Work within a team known for strong collaboration and welcoming culture, serving a diverse community representing over 120 languages
- Must reside outside a 50-mile radius of the facility; local candidates will not be considered
- Holiday coverage is required for this assignment
- RTO or special scheduling requests will not be accommodated
