Job Description
AtWork Personnel is seeking a Site Safety and Health Officer / Quality Control Manager for a Direct Hire opportunity in the Asheville, NC area to oversee safety, quality control and compliance on U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Construction projects.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee site safety, health, and quality-control activities.
- Conduct daily safety inspections and lead toolbox talks/safety meetings.
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, VA, federal, and contract requirements.
- Review Activity Hazard Analyses (AHAs) and safety plans.
- Inspect construction work for quality and contract compliance.
- Identify deficiencies and ensure corrective actions are completed.
- Maintain safety, training, inspection, and QC documentation.
- Coordinate with project managers, superintendents, subcontractors, VA representatives, and government personnel.
- Assist with inspections, testing, submittals, RFIs, and project closeout.
Qualifications:
- 4+ years of commercial or federal construction experience.
- Previous SSHO and construction quality-control experience.
- OSHA 30 certification commonly required.
- First Aid/CPR preferred or required depending on project.
- USACE CQM-C certification may be required based on the VA contract.
