Assistant Buyer

The Assistant Buyer will support all Buyers with a variety of tasks including data entry, reporting, and creating signage. The ideal Assistant Buyer will be detail-oriented, inquisitive, and ensure the accuracy of items, barcodes, and pricing across all departments.

• Full-time, Hourly Position : 40hrs/week, Monday-Friday
• Shift: 8 hours, In-Person
• Reports to: Green goods Buyer

Enter and maintain data for new items, purchase orders, receiving, and related materials

Create sale and informative signage

Reporting (Led by Green goods Buyer)

Helping with cycle counts and discounting (Led by Inventory Manager and Green goods Buyer as needed)

Communicating with vendors as needed for invoices, credit memos, and general questions

Provide an additional level of review and support for Buyers:

• This position will assist in reviewing margins during receiving, checking for negative inventory on a daily/weekly basis, and tracking aging inventory on a biweekly/monthly basis
• Assist in tracking and addressing mistakes when items are received or rung up incorrectly.

Work to understand the full scope of what a buyer does

Proficiency in computer systems and productivity applications such as Excel, Google Workspace, and Canva; prior experience using VMX is beneficial but not required

Foundational plant knowledge acquired through education or experience is preferred; training will also be provided.

Organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to prioritize daily tasks
