Description of Work

This position is located at Pasquotank Correctional Institution in Elizabeth City, North Carolina. Pasquotank Correctional In situation is a Close/Minimum facility housing male inmates.

/Management Preferences

This position is responsible for providing supervision for subordinate staff, conducting shift line-up, making shift assignments, and inspecting all personnel to determine if they are physically and mentally capable of assuming an assigned post. This position is responsible for conducting investigations and performs searches of persons, places and objects. Responsible for completing, reviewing, and maintaining time reports, duty roster, leave schedules, performance evaluations and administrative forms.

Makes security inspections of the facility and grounds; monitors posts to ascertain that officers are alert, that discipline is being maintained, and that assignments are carried out properly. Perform rescue functions to include CPR, basic first aid, physically removing people from dangerous areas and using firefighting equipment to include fire hoses, extinguishers and breathing apparatus. Responsible for identifying training needs and coordinates delivery of training to subordinate staff.

Accounts for persons and funds and ensures that all equipment is operationally ready for use. This position works closely with and reports directly to the Correctional Captain III.

Salary Range: 45,431.00-$79,504.00

Candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they meet the minimum education and experience listed on the vacancy announcement.

The Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs)/ Management Preferences are not required. Applicants who possess the following skills are preferred:

Documented experience with report writing.

Documented supervisory skills in a prison facility

Documented knowledge of Prison Policies and Procedures/or Facility Operations.
