We are currently seeking an experienced Seasoned Sheet Metal Mechanic to join our fast-growing team. This individual will be responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and installation of HVAC ductwork and related sheet metal components. Strong knowledge of blueprint reading, system layout, and proper installation techniques is essential.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine job requirements
- Measure, cut, bend, and shape sheet metal using hand tools, power tools, and machines
- Install and assemble sheet metal components in commercial settings, including HVAC ductwork, ventilation systems, and architectural sheet metal
- Perform welding, soldering, and fastening of sheet metal parts
- Ensure all work complies with safety standards and building codes
- Inspect finished products for quality and accuracy
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other trades to ensure timely project completion
- Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition
- Ensure proper system functionality by inspecting, testing, and adjusting completed installations to meet quality and safety standards.
- Collaborate with project teams and other trades on-site to ensure accurate measurements, timely completion, and seamless integration of HVAC components.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and work spaces in a safe and organized manner while adhering to company safety protocols and OSHA regulations.
The position will report to the local Install Manager.
Qualifications- High school diploma or GED required; technical or trade school certification preferred
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in commercial sheet metal work
- Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings
- Strong knowledge of HVAC systems and ductwork installation
- Ability to operate sheet metal machinery and tools safely and efficiently
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and practices
- Physical stamina and strength to lift heavy materials and work in various environments
- Certification in welding or HVAC installation, preferred
- Experience with computerized fabrication equipment, preferred
- Strong problem-solving and communication skills, preferred
