As a Bus Operator, you'll drive fixed routes throughout the Asheville area, delivering safe, reliable service to the community.

RATP Dev USA proudly operates Asheville Rides Transit (ART), connecting riders across 18 routes to essential destinations like jobs, healthcare, and education.

Pay & Benefits

• Starting Pay: $25.25 per hour
• Sign-On Bonus:
  Up to $7,500 (based on qualifications)
• CDL Bonus:
  Up to $2,250 for CDL with Passenger Endorsement
• Paid CDL Training:
  No cost to you-we'll train and support you

As a Bus Operator with ART (Asheville Rides Transit), you will safely transport passengers along fixed routes throughout Asheville while providing reliable, customer-focused service.

• Safely operate buses on scheduled routes throughout the Asheville area
• Provide friendly, professional customer service
• Assist passengers, including individuals with disabilities
• Follow all traffic laws, safety procedures, and company policies
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections (DVIR compliance)
• Communicate with dispatch regarding routes, detours, or incidents
• Operate bus equipment safely (farebox, lift, radio, emergency equipment)
• Collect fares and maintain accurate passenger counts
• Respond to incidents or emergencies following established procedures
• Report accidents or unusual events and complete required documentation

• Must be 21 years or older
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Ability to pass a DOT physical and drug screening
• Ability to pass a comprehensive background check
• Strong communication and customer service skills
• Willingness to obtain a CDL with Passenger Endorsement (training provided)
