Registered Nurse (RN) – PRN – Ashland City, TN

Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive 98‑bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents. Residents receive individualized treatment plans tailored to their personal needs. A professional team of psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, therapists, nurses, and teachers serve hundreds of children and adolescents annually with the common goal of treating and healing trauma and building resiliency. Located on 20 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, about 45 minutes from Nashville, Tennessee, the campus features a full‑size gymnasium, dining hall, separate academic building, and four dormitories, providing opportunities for outdoor recreational activities such as fishing, hiking, softball, and basketball.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Render professional nursing care to patients within the treatment programs, practicing ongoing patient assessment, evaluation, and updating of patient care through observation of physical and behavioral symptoms and communicating pertinent data to other service areas as needed.
  • Administer medications appropriately and document all data accurately according to facility policy.
  • Participate in formulation of individual care plans for all patients and implement the plan according to facility policy.
  • Perform proper HWC techniques, demonstrating knowledge of patient and staff safety, and complete debriefings as indicated.
  • Serve as a role model to staff and students in dress and demeanor.

Qualifications
  • Completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program and licensed (or license‑eligible) in the State of Tennessee.
  • Preferred experience with children/adolescents.
  • Preferred experience working in a psychiatric inpatient setting.
  • 21 years of age.
  • Valid driver's license in good standing.
