Job Overview

Oak Plains Academy (a UHS Company) is looking for Mental Health Associates to provide direct patient care to adolescent residents.

• Walk‑in interviews conducted on the spot, every Thursday, from 12 PM to 2 PM.
• Ensure safety and well‑being of residents while supporting the therapeutic milieu.
• Participate in development and implementation of behavioral programs.
• Document resident behaviors and provide crisis intervention as necessary.
• Follow facility policies and maintain strict guidelines for youth supervision.

• 12‑hour shifts for full‑time schedules.
• Day shift: 6 AM–6 PM.
• Night shift: 6 PM–6 AM.

• Starting wage of $15.44 per hour up to $23 per hour based on experience.
• Shift differential: $4 per hour on weekends, $2–$3 per hour during the week.

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Sociology, Education, or related field or technical degree in allied health (preferred).
• Minimum: one year experience in mental health with demonstrable competence.
• Valid Tennessee driver’s license (military affiliated candidates exempt).
• Satisfactory health, strength and stamina to meet physical, mental and emotional demands.
• 21 years of age or older.

Oak Plains Academy is a comprehensive and highly structured 98‑bed residential treatment program offering psychiatric residential treatment services to children and adolescents struggling with emotional and behavioral issues. Residents receive individualized treatment plans, geared to meet their personal needs.
