Job Description • Certified position.
Title:
Instructional Teacher Leader. Primary Supervisor:
Superintendent or designee. Appointment: annually by the Superintendent.
Qualifications
- Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher and the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position.
- Have experience as a classroom teacher.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively with students, parents, adults, and faculty.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills.
- Physical ability to sit, stoop, and possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more.
Job Goal
To provide leadership and expertise in the development, implementation, and assessment of a high‑quality, research‑based curriculum and assessment program; supply job‑embedded professional learning to teachers through modeling lessons, co‑planning/co‑teaching, peer observations, during/after‑school training opportunities, etc.
General Duties and Performance Responsibilities
Support the development and ongoing revision of a comprehensive curriculum framework to meet student outcomes established by the district.Support teachers in understanding and aligning the revised state standards as they are reviewed on a rotating schedule per Senate Bill 1.Strengthen the PLC process across the district.Implement best‑practice instructional strategies through modeling lessons, co‑planning/co‑teaching, peer observations, and training opportunities.Implement cooperative learning structures to increase student engagement.Assist teachers in lesson planning and resource identification to advance student learning.Increase assessment literacy through training and job‑embedded opportunities such as PLC meetings.Support formative and summative assessment practices and data interpretation.Analyze district and state assessment data to determine instructional effectiveness and target improvement areas district wide.Reduce the number of students scoring novice on the state assessment.Support differentiated teaching/learning strategies for struggling and gifted students.Support the response‑to‑intervention process to aid struggling students.Collaborate with district administrators to create reports, manuals, guides, assessments, and other written documents.Plan and present training opportunities for professional learning needs.Promote positive public relations within the district and community.Attend and participate in meetings as assigned for input in decision‑making and communication.Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.Employment Details
DAYS OF EMPLOYMENT: 200 Days.
SALARY: $43,530 to $84,742 per year (commensurate with the district’s Certified Salary Schedule).
