Instructional Teacher Leaders shall be appointed annually by the Superintendent. The job goal is to provide leadership and expertise in the development, implementation, and assessment of a high‑quality, research‑based curriculum and assessment program, and to supply job‑embedded professional learning to teachers.

• Support the development and ongoing revision of a comprehensive curriculum framework to meet district student outcomes.
• Assist teachers in understanding and aligning revised state standards as they are reviewed on the rotating schedule per Senate Bill 1.
• Strengthen the PLC process across the district.
• Model instructional strategies, co‑plan/co‑teach, conduct peer observations, provide training and feedback to teachers.
• Implement cooperative learning structures to increase student engagement.
• Support teachers in lesson planning and identifying resources, tools, and programs to advance student learning.
• Increase assessment literacy through training opportunities and job‑embedded initiatives.
• Support teachers in formative and summative assessment practices and data interpretation.
• Analyze district and state assessment data to determine effectiveness of instructional practices and target improvement areas.
• Reduce the number of students scoring novice on state assessment.
• Support differentiated teaching/learning strategies for struggling and gifted students.
• Support the response to intervention process to provide interventions for struggling students.
• Collaborate with district administrators to produce reports, manuals, guides, assessments, and other written documents.
• Plan and present professional learning opportunities for certified and/or classified staff.
• Promote positive public relations within the community and the school district.
• Attend and participate in meetings as assigned to contribute to decision‑making and maintain communication.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent or designee.

• Hold a bachelor’s degree or higher and the required Kentucky certificate for the assigned position.
• Experience as a classroom teacher.
• Ability to work effectively with students, parents, and adults.
• Effective communication skills with students, parents, and faculty.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• Citizenship, residency, or work visa required.

Ability to sit, stoop, and possibly lift up to 50 pounds or more, and perform other body movements related to the job.
