We are seeking an experienced EHS Engineer to support a manufacturing facility by driving a culture of safety, ensuring regulatory compliance, and leading continuous improvement initiatives across environmental, health, and safety programs.
This role partners closely with operations, engineering, and leadership to maintain a safe and compliant workplace while improving overall performance and risk reduction.
Key Responsibilities- Ensure compliance with all applicable OSHA, EPA, and federal, state, and local regulations
- Develop, implement, and maintain EHS programs, policies, and training initiatives
- Lead safety committee meetings and promote a strong safety-first culture
- Partner with operations and engineering teams to support process safety and continuous improvement efforts
- Conduct routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments to identify and mitigate hazards
- Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root cause analysis, and implement corrective actions
- Maintain and update EHS documentation, procedures, and reporting requirements Including regulatory reporting such as SARA Tier II, Title V, TRI, and related compliance documentation
- Track and report key EHS metrics, compliance status, and improvement initiatives to leadership
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and external auditors
- Support initiatives to reduce workplace injuries, workers’ compensation costs, and safety-related downtime
- Participate in or lead site-level EHS projects and cross-functional initiatives
- Travel to additional facilities as needed
- 3–5+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing or industrial environment
- Strong working knowledge of OSHA and EPA regulations
- Experience with incident investigation, audits, and compliance reporting
- Ability to influence and collaborate across operations, engineering, and leadership teams
- Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Experience leading or supporting safety programs and training initiatives
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS reporting systems
- Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field required
