The City of Ashland, Kentucky, is hiring a Planner I/II.
Grade: 111/113
Min. beginning salary per grade: $42,689/yr. / $52,266/yr.
Class Characteristics:
Under general direction, performs short and long term planning involving research, analysis, and administration of planning, zoning, historic preservation and other development controls; conducts research related to and prepares applications for federal, state and local grants.
- Evaluates applications and prepares staff reports for various permits, amendments, appeals, or other applicable programs/regulations.
- Presents information to the Board of Zoning Adjustment, Planning Commission, or other groups.
- Answers inquiries regarding zoning and subdivision ordinance requirements.
- Researches planning-related issues and prepares reports with findings and recommendations.
- Reviews building permits and site plans for compliance.
- Inspects property for compliance with approved plans and property maintenance code.
- Prepares correspondence in response to requests for information and to compel compliance with ordinances.
- Assists with community development activities.
- Researches information related to federal, state, and local grants.
- Prepares applications for federal state and local grants.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
