Responsibilities
  • Live our purpose by helping manage and improve patient health through safe and appropriate dispensing, counseling, and immunizing practices.
  • Oversee pharmacy team during bench shifts, strengthening performance through effective coaching and consistent follow‑up.
  • Support safe and accurate prescription fulfillment, following pharmacy workflow procedures and safety guardrails.
  • Contribute to positive patient experiences by showing empathy and genuine care, collaborating with the patient’s healthcare team, and proactively resolving insurance or medication issues.
  • Offer and deliver immunizations, identifying, engaging, and supporting Pharmacy Technicians to learn to immunize.
  • Manage pharmacy inventory, coaching the team on best practices with a focus on protecting cold chain products.
  • Conduct new Technician and Pharmacist onboarding, ensuring trainees complete required training and licensure.
  • Ensure pharmacy operations comply with state Board of Pharmacy regulations, escalating concerns as needed.
  • Partner with the Store Manager to maintain a healthy talent pipeline of cross‑trained colleagues, ensuring timely completion of required training.
  • Oversee Staff Pharmacists and District Support Pharmacists, managing performance through observation, feedback, and annual reviews.
  • Maintain flexibility for scheduling and business needs, supporting a safe, inclusive, and engaging team dynamic.
  • Review business reporting for operational insights and develop action plans.
  • Establish a culture of safety, empowerment, and inclusion, encouraging feedback and taking relevant action.
  • Maintain relevant clinical and technical skills, actively expanding knowledge to support patients.
  • Support access to care and improve patient outcomes through pharmacist‑delivered clinical care such as testing and prescribing services where permissible.
  • Understand and comply with all relevant federal and state laws and CVS Health policies, ensuring patient safety, controlled substance dispensing, privacy, and a safe workplace.
Required Qualifications
  • Active Pharmacist License in the state where the Store is located.
  • Active National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Not on the DEA Excluded Parties list.
  • 1–2 years of experience as a Pharmacist.
Essential Functions
  • Regular and predictable attendance, including nights and weekends.
  • Ability to complete required training within designated timeframe.

    • Pivot quickly from one task to another to meet patient and business needs.
    • Confirm prescription information and label accuracy to ensure patient safety.

    • Use verbal and written communication to interact with patients and colleagues.

    • Use math to solve problems, such as determining tablet counts and supply needs.

    • Identify challenging interactions and choose best course of action.
  • Physical Demands
    • Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods.
    • Lifts, scans, and bags items up to 20 lbs, frequently up to 10 lbs.
    • Reaches overhead, stretches, and works primarily with fingers.
    • Maintains visual acuity for fine task completion.
    • Expresses ideas orally with accuracy and receives detailed information.
  • Team Management and Leadership
    • Lead by example, delegate tasks, and foster a collaborative environment.
