Job Summary

Responsible for assessing patient conditions and providing prompt medical care in emergency situations. Delivers essential medical assistance and ensures safe transportation of patients to healthcare facilities. Responds to emergency calls and transfers patients between homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals. Communicates effectively and demonstrates empathy in high‑pressure environments. Maintains a strong commitment to patient care and safety.

Essential Functions
  • Demonstrates excellent customer service and communicates effectively with patients, team members, and other stakeholders.
  • Performs patient assessments to determine the nature and severity of medical emergencies and provides basic medical care and life support.
  • Measures and monitors vital signs, relaying pertinent patient information to advanced care providers or receiving facilities for continuity of care.
  • Responds quickly and calmly to unexpected issues or complications during patient care and transport.
  • Safely transports patients to and from homes, nursing facilities, and hospitals, following dispatcher instructions and maintaining patient privacy.
  • Conducts and documents daily vehicle and equipment inspections, ensures readiness, cleanliness, and reports any malfunctions promptly.
  • Completes and maintains accurate documentation in the EHR and other required records, adhering to departmental policies and procedures.
  • Precepts orientees, supports team education, and participates in ongoing professional development and enterprise committees.
  • Ensures compliance with established practices, quality standards, and regulatory requirements in all aspects of care and operations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
Education Requirement

High school diploma or equivalent experience

Experience Requirement

0-1 years of experience in a healthcare, clinical setting, or a relevant area. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered. All experience must be paid and in the same related field. Part‑time and PRN experience will be prorated based on hours worked per week. Volunteer work and internships for academic credit are not counted.

Certifications & Licensures
  • Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)
  • Advanced Medical Technician (AEMT)
  • Basic Life Support (BLS)
  • Driver's license
