OverviewInformation Technology Specialists maintain networks, hardware, and software. They provide customer and network administration and develop, test, and edit computer programs.
Job Duties- Maintain networks, hardware, and software.
- Provide customer and network administration services.
- Construct, edit, and test computer programs.
- 10 weeks Basic Combat Training.
- 20 weeks Advanced Individual Training with on‑the‑job instruction.
- Learn to use computer consoles and peripheral equipment.
- Understand computer systems concepts.
- Plan, design, and test computer systems.
- U.S. Citizen or Green Card holder (I‑551).
- Age 17–34; ages 35–39 may qualify with a waiver.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Must pass criminal background check and drug screening.
- Must be in good physical health.
- Minimum ASVAB Skilled Technical (ST) score: 95.
- Interest in computer science.
- Attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills.
- Experience installing computers.
$40,000–$80,000 per year. Total compensation includes housing, medical, food, special pay, and vacation time.
