Job Description & How to Apply Below

Location: North Eastern United States – Remote (Pennsylvania, Ohio, Maine, New York, Massachusetts, Vermont, New Jersey or West Virginia)

Territory: North East US

Markets: Mining, Cement and Heavy Industry

Travel: Approximately 40–50%

The Opportunity

We are representing an established global engineering business that designs and manufactures high-performance mechanical drive solutions used in some of the most demanding industrial applications worldwide.

Its equipment supports critical production assets across the mining and cement industries, where reliability, uptime and lifecycle performance are essential. Following a strong growth and significant investment in the business, the company is entering a new phase of expansion across North America.

To support this expansion, we are looking to appoint a North East Sales Manager to grow the aftermarket and new equipment business across the North East United States.

This is a customer-facing, new-business-focused role for someone who enjoys opening doors, taking market share and developing opportunities within technically complex industrial environments.

The Role

The North East Sales Manager will take ownership of aftermarket sales across an established territory, with responsibility for developing new customers while expanding relationships across the existing installed base.

The focus will be on spare parts, service, repair, upgrades, replacements and other lifecycle solutions supporting large mechanical drive systems used within mining and cement operations.

You will spend significant time with customers at plants, mines and regional offices, building relationships with maintenance, reliability, engineering, procurement and operational stakeholders.

The role will require a proactive approach to identifying opportunities rather than waiting for enquiries. You will be expected to map the market, understand competitor installations and build a sustainable pipeline of aftermarket projects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute the aftermarket sales strategy across the North East United States.
  • Win new accounts within the mining, cement and wider heavy industrial markets.
  • Grow revenue from spare parts, repairs, services, upgrades and replacement equipment.
  • Map the regional installed base and identify competitor equipment that can be supported or replaced.
  • Build relationships with maintenance, reliability, engineering, procurement and plant leadership teams.
  • Conduct regular customer visits to understand operational challenges and upcoming maintenance requirements.
  • Develop technical and commercial proposals in partnership with engineering and proposal teams.
  • Manage opportunities through the CRM and maintain accurate forecasts, pipeline data and activity reporting.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements and deliver agreed sales and margin targets.
  • Represent the business at relevant trade shows, conferences and customer events.

The original role specification places particular emphasis on installed-base mapping, developing a sustainable opportunity pipeline, winning new customers and maintaining regular plant-level engagement.

About You

We are looking for a commercially driven industrial salesperson with a proven record of developing new business.

You are likely to have experience selling products or services such as:

  • Industrial gearboxes and gear drives
  • Mechanical power transmission equipment
  • Couplings, bearings or large rotating equipment
  • Electric motors and industrial drives
  • Gearbox repair, rebuild or field service solutions
  • Engineered aftermarket products used in heavy industry

Experience selling into mining or cement would be highly advantageous. Candidates from adjacent power transmission markets will also be considered where they can demonstrate strong new-business development capability and experience selling technically complex solutions into industrial end users. Candidates from industrial distribution are also encouraged to apply.

Why Consider This Role?

This is an opportunity to join a highly respected international engineering business at an important stage in its North American growth.

The successful candidate will benefit from:

  • A significant installed base across mining and cement
  • Strong technical and proposals support
  • The autonomy to shape the North East US territory
  • A genuine focus on aftermarket growth
  • The opportunity to win business across both existing and competitor equipment
  • Long-term investment in North American service and customer support capability

The role will suit someone who wants more than responsibility for maintaining established accounts. It offers the opportunity to create a market strategy, build a pipeline and make a visible contribution to the growth of the North American business in a small and engaged team.

All applications and enquiries will be handled in the strictest confidence. Company details will be shared during the initial discussion.
