Church Compliance Officer (U.S. and Eastern Africa)
JESUS CHRIST MARANATHA GLOBAL MINISTRIES INC is seeking applicants for Church Compliance Officer (U.S. and Eastern Africa) role.
Job duties include: Create and maintain written policies, procedures, and codes of conduct to guide Jesus Christ Maranatha Global Ministries' (J.C. Maranatha's) operations including its churches, programs and projects in the U.S. and Swahili speaking countries such as Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, the DRC, Malawi and the wider Eastern African region;
Regularly check that the organization, its mission and values, churches, programs and projects are adhering to all applicable laws, regulations, and internal policies while accomplishing the goal of spreading the Gospel of Jesus Christ;
Perform both systematic and random audits to identify potential compliance issues and non-compliance situations;
Provide training and education to J.C. Maranatha's staff, volunteers, and members on compliance requirements and policies;
Ensure that all necessary compliance information is communicated effectively within the ministry and it's churches;
Provide regular reports to all ministry, church, program and project leadership teams on compliance efforts and potential risks;
Work closely with leadership to incorporate compliance into all aspects of the Christian ministry's operations;
Identify potential compliance risks and implement strategies to mitigate them;
Develop and implement corrective actions to address any identified non-compliance issues.
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Church Governance, Compliance, Ecumenical Compliance and Ethics, Law, Church Administration, Business Administration, Legal Studies or similar field; 24 months experience in a compliance or legal or similar field in either a religious or secular nonprofit or for-profit organization. Language skills required:
English and Swahili.

Travel details:
Two times a year travel to the Christian ministries' established as well as potential projects in Swahili-speaking countries in Africa such as Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. The position is currently being offered at the prevailing wage of $ 78,374.00 per year.
