Extended Day Enrichment Teacher – Warren Job Description
This position is intended for the school year.
Responsibilities- Plan and implement engaging enrichment activities aligned with student interests and staff strengths, including arts and crafts, STEM, cooperative games, sports, team‑building, and other recreational activities.
- Assist with daily supervision of students in both structured and unstructured settings (e.g., hallways, cafeteria, recess, transitions) while using positive, consistent behavior management practices.
- Maintain safe, organized, and orderly program spaces, including assisting with classroom and storage area clean‑up.
- Build positive, professional relationships with students to support engagement and maintain a welcoming, respectful, and inclusive environment.
- Communicate and interact professionally with parents, students, and coworkers while maintaining student confidentiality.
- Share relevant student observations, concerns, and program feedback with leadership staff as appropriate.
- Attend required staff trainings, field trips, and special events as requested.
- Other duties as assigned by the Head Teacher, Assistant Director, or Director.
- The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, and occasionally run while supervising students and program activities.
- The employee may occasionally lift and move heavy objects.
- The employee must work effectively in a fast‑paced environment with frequent distractions and interruptions, including phone calls, parent interactions, walkie‑talkie communication, and loud settings.
- The employee must respond appropriately to emergencies, including student injuries and behavioral incidents.
- The employee is required to work outdoors in various weather conditions deemed safe and appropriate for students.
- College‑level coursework or experience in education or a related field (e.g., psychology, sociology, or human services) with relevant experience working with children preferred (school support, childcare, camps, or youth programs).
- CPR/AED and First Aid certification, or willingness to obtain certification upon hire.
- Valid driver’s license required.
- Citizenship, residency or work visa required.
- Monday through Friday scheduling available.
- Approximate start time: 3:30 PM.
- End time: 6:00 PM.
- $18.50 per hour for college students.
- $20.00 per hour for those with a relevant bachelor’s degree or currently employed by a public school system.
