A healthcare service is seeking to hire a Grants Accountant. In this seat, you will be overseeing a select group of grants and handling the accounting for those grants. Additionally, you will be responsible for AP, billing, balance sheets reconciliations, financial reporting, and budgeting. The ideal candidate can go through the full life cycle of a grant and is proficient in Excel, specifically Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
Responsibilities include preparing and analyzing financial statements in accordance with GAAP standards, conducting bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy of financial records, writing comprehensive financial reports for internal and external stakeholders, performing account analysis to identify discrepancies and resolve issues promptly, ensuring compliance with SOX regulations and internal controls, and assisting in the preparation of budgets and forecasts as needed.
Requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA or equivalent certification preferred, proven experience in financial statement preparation and analysis, strong knowledge of accrual accounting principles and practices, experience with SOX compliance is essential, excellent written and verbal communication skills for effective reporting, and proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel is a must.
