Overview
The Department of Chemistry, Geology, and Physics invites applications for qualified adjunct instructors to begin teaching spring semester 2026. We are specifically seeking instructors to teach courses in general and organic chemistry. Courses have lecture and lab components. The courses will be taught in person only on our main campus in Ashland, Ohio. While adjunct faculty are part-time faculty, adjunct faculty members are eligible to participate in AU faculty development programs.
Responsibilities- Teach general chemistry and/or organic chemistry courses with lecture and laboratory components.
- Deliver instruction in person on the campus in Ashland, Ohio.
- Participate in faculty development programs as available to adjunct faculty.
- Required: Master of Science or higher in Chemistry or related field with a minimum of eighteen (18) hours of graduate Chemistry coursework. Education and other master’s degrees are not acceptable substitutes.
- Preferred: College-level teaching experience.
