Pathways Peer Support Program
Overview:
The Pathways Peer Support Program offers peer driven groups and activities that focuses on addressing all areas of a person's life including interpersonal relationships, life skills, spirituality, self-fulfillment and helping others. We are seeking a candidate with the minimal licensure of LSW or LPC who has experience with peer recovery and has understanding and sensitivity to individuals with lived experience with mental health and/or substance misuse.
The program is funded through the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Ashland County. Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Catholic Charities staff and participants in Pathways to develop and facilitate groups on a variety of topics including (but not limited to) interpersonal relationships, yoga, writing, exercise, sewing, arts & crafts, relaxation, spirituality, coping skills, hygiene, cooking, etc.
- Help participants develop wellness plans that are recovery driven.
- Facilitate and manage group activities with other staff and participants in the office or community.
- Document participants' activity in groups. Prepare quarterly and annual reports on program activities.
- Participate in community events and outreach to promote and expand the program countywide.
- Supervise a small staff of individuals who are dedicated to providing recovery oriented groups to the participants.
Requirements:
- If not currently certified to provide supervision for Certified Peer Recovery Supporters; will become certified within the first six months of employment.
- Candidate needs to have a minimal licensure of LSW or LPC.
- Experience working with peer recovery with the understanding and sensitivity to individuals with lived experience with mental health and/or substance misuse.
- Supervisory experience necessary
- Must have the ability to relate to a wide variety of people, both professional and volunteers; as well represent the site/corporation to outside organizations and systems.
- Must have competent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Must have the ability to effectively prioritize and implement a variety of concurrent and varying activities.
- Must be able to effectively and productively work with people of very diverse economic, cultural and administrative backgrounds.
- Must be able to work independently from general instructions.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule that includes evenings and weekends.
- Good working knowledge of computers with familiarity of Microsoft Office software.
- Must have a valid Ohio Driver's License and reliable means of transportation for local travel.
