Job Title:
Packer
The Packer works in an area producing product that is packed into trays and cartons for shipping. The primary duties include preparing packaging materials, manually packing product, palletizing goods, and completing final quality inspections of finished goods.
- Prepares cardboard cartons/trays by folding, taping, sorting, and labeling them, ensuring tape guns have sufficient tape.
- Performs visual inspections of finished product packaging for integrity, checking bag registration, code dates, prices, bag and case seals, and removing out‑of‑spec product.
- Fills cartons/displays based on packaging specifications, ensuring correct labels and seals are applied.
- Stacks cartons/trays on pallets or skids using correct stacking patterns and may use a pallet jack to move finished goods up to 300 lb.
- Clears loose product from turntable area, discards defective bags or boxes, and sweeps loose product from the floor.
- Assists with product rework according to plant expectations.
- Adheres to safety and hygiene guidelines, including housekeeping and personal protection.
- Maintains a clean work area and follows 5S protocols.
- Stores packaging room supplies in designated areas.
- Clears work area aisles and exits of obstructions and removes trash from the floor.
- Performs sanitation tasks such as equipment washes, seasoner cleanings, and wipeouts.
- Prepares lines for startup and assists with equipment changeovers when applicable.
- May operate tray‑making or stapling machines.
- Reports issues to Machine Operators, Group Leader, or Supervisor as needed.
- May perform other duties as required.
- Mandatory overtime may be required.
High School Diploma or GED and/or one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment is required.

Compensation & BenefitsIndividual base pay depends on work location and additional factors such as experience, job‑related skills, and relevant education or training.
