Shift schedules and hours may vary depending on coverage and the production schedule, especially during holidays.
Responsibilities- Operate snack packaging machinery safely, efficiently, and continuously.
- Read and plan around the production schedule.
- Maintain operation by monitoring codes, dates, and prices.
- Ensure an adequate supply of roll stock and other packaging materials.
- Adjust machine micro‑logic setup to sustain efficiency and reduce waste.
- Execute machine setups, changeovers, and proper running of equipment.
- Plan for changeovers and transition smoothly between product items.
- Monitor and adjust each machine to secure correct film cuts and bag seals.
- Maintain operation at standard speeds and oversee weight and product appearance checks.
- Account for product run‑off and sort, rework, or handle all good product as needed.
- Keep machines and work areas clean, wipe down packaging machines, and blow down the area when necessary.
- Report any maintenance problems immediately to a Maintenance Mechanic or Supervisor.
- Follow safety and hygiene guidelines for housekeeping and personal protection.
- Store supplies in designated areas and keep aisles and exits clear.
- Adhere to safe lifting/carrying instructions, report equipment issues, and report all job‑related injuries to supervision.
- Provide leadership and direction to the packaging line.
- Act as a Back‑up Packaging Coordinator or qualify for other technical/skilled positions, if applicable.
- Monitor and replenish seasoning on overhead lines to ensure proper coverage.
- May be required to work mandatory overtime.
- Perform additional duties as required.
- High School Diploma or GED.
- At least one year of production experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Must be able to lift 40+ lbs. regularly; occasionally lift or move more than 50 lbs. with assistance.
