Position Summary:

Since 1961, the Wellborn family has owned and operated Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. The goal is to provide kitchen and bath cabinets crafted by dedicated Wellborn employees with the utmost quality and care. Today, over 55 years later, the product line has broadened to include cabinetry and storage solutions to help maximize the total home living space. This role will employ care and organizational skill to continue to make Wellborn Cabinet, Inc.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Uses transactions on the computer system to receive production orders from previous dept (doors, frames, molding, etc.)

Utilizes transactions to issue parts to next dept. (sand, finish, Assembly, Shipping, etc.)

Creates re-dots for missing or damaged/scrapped parts, etc.

Creates production jobs for orders not created (for missing or late parts) before sanding

Corrects inventory (if necessary) in operation before sanding

Allocates jobs to adjust inventory (operation before sanding)

Reads paperwork, Kanban tickets and/or color-coded labels (depending on department)

Utilizes knowledge of parts depending on the department to ensure parts match paperwork/tickets (particleboard, wood, painted or raw parts, etc.) - operations before sanding

Transaction Clerk 2:

Measures individual parts by length and width to determine what to look up in the computer system.

Uses specific transaction codes to provide a finish confirmation by, typing in size, color, and style of part to assess the priority of the item.

Completes sand confirmation if not completed by previous operation (sand transaction must be completed before finish transaction).

Looks up parts using transaction number in the computer system to receive parts coming from the finishing areas.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

Good interpersonal skills, ability to work with others

Know how to handle material properly (Ergonomics) after finishing

Must be proficient in reading a tape measure. (process after sanding or finishing).

Learn product by taking available classes (door, frame, molding, etc.)

Ability to stay-on-task, follow safety guidelines and work process procedures.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be a self-starter who works well and can follow a list of daily work assignments.

Possesses a willingness to learn new ways to enhance productivity.

Good interpersonal skills, ability to work well with other employees.

Position has recurring work situations that involve having a high attention to detail and service results. It is important that Wellborn Cabinet, Inc. Safety protocols be followed as a guide for operational direction. Failing to follow prescribed guidelines will waste resources and adversely impact performance.

Must be able to endure the extreme heat of summer weather.

Primarily works in a manufacturing environment.

Frequently required use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk and hear clearly.

Frequently required to bend; lift; stand; walk; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, or crouch.

Frequently required to lift up to 30 pounds of product.

Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Uses safety glasses, gloves, ear plugs and pliers.
