Overview
The General Utility role supports production, sanitation and packaging operations in the plant. Duties include assisting in various phases of production and providing general labor support as needed across areas of the site.
Responsibilities- Assist in the production of goods, including pre-weighing ingredients, staging for mixing operations, cutting raw materials, removing discarded product/materials, and identifying defects on conveyors based on specifications.
- Maintain cleanliness of manufacturing areas, including cardboard removal, floors (swept/mopped), counters and equipment cleaning, and organization according to 5S/production standards.
- Lubricate, hand clean parts, and assemble production equipment.
- Perform a variety of general manual labor tasks (e.g., lifting and moving materials, loading/unloading, assisting with heavy materials, minor repairs).
- Work with others to complete tasks efficiently, ensuring the line is ready for startup/shutdown and downtime is minimized.
- Assist other employees with assigned tasks as needed.
- Package or assist in packing finished goods, parts, materials, and equipment for customer delivery.
- Deliver and pick up materials within the plant as needed.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment.
- Follow department rules, procedures, and requirements to complete duties.
- If qualified, operate machinery within the site.
- Adhere to GMP, allergen program, and safety guidelines/procedures.
- Overtime may be required.
- Perform other duties as required.
High School Diploma or GED and/or 1 year of production experience in a manufacturing environment is required.
