Inspector/Packer (Afternoon Shift) – Manufacturing Production

Shift: Afternoon Shift
Shift Differential: +$2.00/hour
Pay: $18.50/hour

Position Overview

We are hiring a dependable and detail-oriented Inspector/Packer to join our manufacturing production team. This position is responsible for inspecting finished products, packaging bags according to customer specifications, and helping maintain the highest standards of safety, quality, and productivity.

This is an excellent opportunity for individuals looking to start or grow a career in manufacturing. No prior experience is required—we provide comprehensive on-the-job training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Inspect finished bags to ensure they meet customer specifications and company quality standards.
  • Pack products into boxes or totes according to packaging requirements and bag specifications.
  • Verify accurate box and tote counts before products move to the next stage of production.
  • Monitor product quality and immediately report any suspect, damaged, or defective products for review.
  • Help minimize scrap while supporting production efficiency and quality goals.
  • Work collaboratively with machine operators and fellow production team members to maintain workflow and productivity.
  • Follow 5S workplace organization, Good Housekeeping, and machine sanitation standards.
  • Cross-train to inspect and pack all bag specifications across multiple production lines and machines.
  • Complete production records and required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Assist with training and mentoring new Inspector/Packer team members as assigned.
  • Perform additional production or quality-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.

Experience

  • No previous manufacturing experience required.
  • Paid on-the-job training provided.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, production, warehouse, packaging, assembly, or quality inspection is a plus but not required.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work in a fast‑paced manufacturing environment.
  • Good teamwork and communication skills.
  • Ability to follow work instructions, production specifications, and safety procedures.
  • Basic math and counting skills for packaging accuracy.
  • Basic computer skills.
  • Ability to safely operate or learn to operate a pallet jack.
