Spherion Mid Ohio is hiring Production Operators in Ashland for a physically active, hands-on manufacturing opportunity starting at $22+ /hour
.
This role is a good fit for someone who likes working with tools, doesn't mind getting their hands dirty, and is comfortable staying active throughout the day. You'll help finish manufactured metal components using grinders and other tools while working in a fast-paced industrial production environment.
This is physical manufacturing work with exposure to heat, noise, and dust. If that's an environment you're comfortable in, the opportunity offers strong starting pay, a consistent first-shift schedule, and a fast path toward permanent placement.

• Use grinders and power tools to finish manufactured metal components
• Remove excess material and prepare parts to meet specifications
• Perform physical material handling throughout production
• Inspect completed work for quality and accuracy
• Use hand tools, including a sledgehammer, as required
• Lift, position, and lower materials weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Follow established work instructions and safety procedures
• Maintain a clean and organized work area
• Work with your team to keep production moving efficiently

• Dependable attendance and a strong work ethic
• Mechanically inclined and comfortable working with your hands
• Comfortable in a hot, noisy, and dusty industrial environment
• Ability to work at a steady pace throughout a 10-hour shift
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, twist, and perform repetitive physical work
• Ability to lift and lower up to 50 lbs.
• Comfortable using, or learning to use, grinders, power tools, and hand tools
• Strong attention to safety and quality
• Previous manufacturing, industrial, construction, fabrication, or other hands-on experience is helpful, but not required

• $22+ /hour starting pay
• 1st shift: 5:30 AM - 4:00 PM

Because of the physical demands and industrial working environment, candidates must successfully complete required pre-employment testing, including:

• Vision testing
• Audiometric exam
• Pulmonary function testing
• Chest X-ray with B-reader review
• TB skin test, including a return visit within 48 - 72 hours
