Position Overview
The Unit Supervisor oversees daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure high-quality care for residents. This role involves leading and supervising the nursing team, coordinating care plans, ensuring regulatory compliance, and maintaining a safe and efficient environment.
Responsibilities- Oversee daily operations of the nursing unit to ensure consistent, high-quality resident care.
- Supervise nursing staff while fostering accountability, teamwork, and professional growth.
- Conduct daily resident rounds, identify care needs, and address concerns promptly.
- Report resident care issues to the Director of Health Services.
- Coordinate and contribute to individualized care plan development to support optimal resident outcomes.
- Participate in the nursing on‑call rotation and provide clinical guidance to staff as needed.
- Support staff performance evaluations, coaching, and ongoing competency development.
- Serve as a liaison with external surveyors and agencies.
- Promote and model customer service excellence and nursing best practices.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations and maintain readiness for surveys and audits.
- Other duties as assigned.
- Education:
Associate Degree. - Experience:
1-3 years in a similar nursing supervisory role.
Must have and maintain a current, valid nursing license and current, valid CPR certification.
Physical RequirementsSitting, standing, bending, reaching, stretching, stooping, walking, and moving intermittently during working hours. Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs and maintain verbal and written communication with co‑workers, supervisors, residents, family members, visitors, vendors, and all business associates outside of the health campus.
