Student Nurses at UH Samaritan Medical Center have the opportunity to work on the following units:

• Med/surg
• ICU
• Float pool

NA IIs work under the direction of an RN to provide safe, efficient, age-specific care to patients and families to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and/or sustain optimal health status.

Responsibilities include:

• Direct patient care delivery, including, but not limited to:
  • ADLs/hygiene, Vital signs, I&O, Bladder scanning, EKG, Glucometer & other point of care testing (where applicable) and Restraints
  • Communication and documentation of interventions and observations
  • Participation in quality improvement process
  • Involved in learning and self-improvement
  • Initiates and maintains a positive relationship with patients/customers and coworkers

• Supportive & education focused culture

• Enrollment in a Diploma RN, Associate or bachelor’s degree of Nursing from an accredited program
• Successful completion of a Registered Nursing Fundamentals course required
• Most up-to-date transcripts should be uploaded with application - help limit f/u post-offer & clarify qualification when screening

    Education verification will be required upon receiving a job offer.

• Prior experience on a related unit or specialty in a practicum, internship or STNA/PCNA/NAII is preferred
