Position: QC Technician I

Quality Control Technician (Night Shift) – Manufacturing

Location:

Ashland Manufacturing Facility Shift: Night Shift Pay: $20.50/hour

Position Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented Quality Control Technician to join our manufacturing team at our Ashland facility. In this role, you will help ensure that all products meet established customer specifications and company quality standards before release. You will perform product inspections, quality testing, documentation, and support continuous quality improvement while maintaining a safe, efficient, and collaborative work environment.

The ideal candidate has strong attention to detail, enjoys working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, and is committed to delivering high-quality products.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform quality inspections and product testing according to Product Quality Control Testing (PQCT) procedures for designated product types, including dairy and barrier bags.
  • Conduct routine quality checks throughout production to ensure ongoing compliance with customer specifications and internal quality standards.
  • Read, interpret, and follow product specifications, quality requirements, and PQCT documentation.
  • Identify, isolate, and properly document suspect or non-conforming products following established quality procedures.
  • Communicate quality concerns promptly to the Shift Supervisor and verify that appropriate production adjustments are made by machine operators.
  • Verify that correct raw materials are being used according to product specifications.
  • Provide break relief for Inspectors and Packers as needed.
  • Participate in investigations, root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives related to quality issues and customer complaints.
  • Assist with product re-inspection and retesting for held or returned materials.
  • Complete quality records, inspection reports, and production documentation accurately and on time.
  • Support the training and development of new Quality Department team members.
  • Perform additional quality assurance and production support duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent required.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing, quality control, quality assurance, inspection, or production preferred.
  • Inspector/Packer experience or training is preferred.
Skills & Qualifications
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to product quality.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow written procedures, specifications, and work instructions.
  • Basic computer proficiency for documentation and data entry.
  • Experience with Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) is preferred.
