Position Title Assistant Football Coach, Secondary and Director of Football Operations - Athletics

Job Description

Ashland University is an NCAA Division II institution that competes in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC). Ashland University offers a comprehensive 24-sport athletic program. The University is located off of Interstate 71 in Ashland, Ohio, midway between Cleveland and Columbus.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities Director of Football Operations
  • Team travel.
  • Schedule busses, hotels, and meals.
  • Compile rooming list and travel itinerary.
Defense :
Safeties
  • Evaluation of defensive practice and game tape with staff.
  • Assist with Defensive game plan and film study.
  • Evaluation, development and discipline of Safeties.
  • Safeties drill book, trainer, and tip sheets.
  • Game Day:
    Sideline – Personnel, assist with in-game adjustments.
  • Assist with the J.V. Defense.
Kicking Game
  • Lead Coach for the Punt Block team.
  • Practice:
    Indy Specialty Period – Punt Returners, designated assignment with the “Core 4” and FG/ PAT Block.
  • Game Day:
    Sideline – Personnel for the Punt, Kickoff & FG- PAT Block Teams.
Additional Responsibilities
  • Team, Rising Star, and Youth Camp Director.
  • Coordination of Training Camp Move-in.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Candidates must have the ability to successfully impart football knowledge.
  • Previous coaching and/or playing experience on the college level is highly desired.
  • The ability to identify and recruit student-athletes is required.
  • This position requires well-developed communication skills, as well as strong time management and organizational skills.
  • The ability to manage a budget is desired.
  • The ability to work weekends and evenings is required. This position requires extensive travel, both in recruiting and games.
