Position SummaryThe Automotive Technician is a core member of the automotive service team, learning and applying foundational skills in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining vehicles. The role includes hands‑on work, routine inspections, vehicle assessments, and customer interaction. It demands mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to high‑quality workmanship in a fast‑paced environment.
Pay Range: $16.63 – $24.99 per hour (flat‑rate pay). All employees receive compensation that meets or exceeds applicable minimum wage requirements.
Responsibilities- Change oil and perform other scheduled maintenance services.
- Perform inspections of steering, suspension, and brake systems.
- Install batteries and check electrical systems.
- Perform tire maintenance and install parts.
- Road test vehicles.
- Obtain or maintain A.S.E. certifications in at least one of A1–A8 within the first two years of employment.
- Ability to learn basic mechanical tasks.
- Valid automobile driver’s license at all times, able to drive customer and company vehicles.
- Basic understanding of general automotive maintenance and tire repair, including oil changes, basic inspections, and general repair skills.
- Reading, writing, and math skills.
- Two years of automotive repair experience, or completion of a Vocational‑Technical School program in a related field.
- Demonstrated skills via third‑party certificates or assessments.
- A.S.E. certification or equivalent external qualifications or training certifications.
