Business Instructional Advisor

Position Summary

Business Instructional Advisor – PIER Grant (Part‑time, 12‑month, 15 hrs/week). Anticipated appointment start date:
March1,2026. Job family:
Administrative and Professional. Compensation: $27.59–$30.30/hr position is temporary with an end date of October
30,2028. Eligible for hybrid work. Driver’s license required. Criminal background check required. Salary paid by grant funds; employment contingent on continued funding.

• Serve as Lead Instructional Adviser to low‑to‑moderate‑income businesses in the burn‑scar region (Talent, Phoenix, Shady Cove).
• Provide professional client advising services per SOU and PIER standards.
• Enter client contact and session information into the PIER Management Information System.
• Maintain confidentiality, integrity, and high service standards while working independently under general supervision of the PIER Director.
• Develop and deliver business‑development education classes, seminars, orientations, and workshops to LMI businesses.
• Coordinate with local business organizations in a coordinated service‑delivery model.
• Collect and report data on household income to determine LMI service provision.
• Use creativity to promote services and develop outreach to the LMI business community.
• Help businesses prepare for funding requests through coaching on business assessment and lending practices.
• Present business development information to groups and individual clients.

• Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, information technology, economics, communications, or a closely related field.
• Private business experience as owner, manager, director, or executive.
• Experience working in community‑based organizations such as Chambers of Commerce, SCORE, Small Business Development Centers, or similar non‑profit entities.
• Minimum two years’ experience and knowledge of business assessment practices.
• Knowledge of business lending practices and coaching for funding requests.
• Experience instructing groups as an instructor.
• Proficiency with CRM or enterprise systems software (preferred).
• Master’s degree in a business or technical area (preferred).

• Experience instructing at the community college or university level as regular or adjunct faculty.
• Experience with enterprise systems or CRM software.
• Master’s degree in business or a related field.

• Lead instructional advising for LMI businesses.
• Enter client data into the database and stay current on business planning and industry knowledge.
• Teach classes, seminars, orientations, and workshops for LMI businesses.
• Develop and present materials tailored to the developmental stage of participants.
• Manage classroom content, presenters, and teaching methods.

• Normal office activities (sitting/standing, computer use) with occasional lifting up to 25lbs.
• Occasional travel and off‑site training attendance.
• Additional hours may be required with flexible scheduling.
• Call-back for emergency work possible on short notice.
• Pre‑employment background check required.
