Pool Temporary Clothless Art Model

Position Summary

Application to this pool is not for a specific position. Qualified applicants will be considered for Clothless/Nude Art Model appointments that may be available at Southern Oregon University on an as‑needed, part‑time, and limited‑duration basis. The appointment varies in classification, salary, and length. Applications will be kept on file and qualified applicants contacted by the hiring department for an interview. Applicants may withdraw their application from the pool at any time.

Compensation: $20.00 per hour.

The Art Model will pose, nude or clothed, for art and drawing classes. The primary purpose is to provide art students with the opportunity to practice, learn, and improve their perceptive skills and quality of artistic expression inspired by the human body. Models must be comfortable posing nude in front of a class and be able to take direction from the instructor.

Poses can vary from quick 10‑second poses up to entire class periods.

• Pose nude or draped for art courses.
• Research and perform class fine‑arts poses.
• Conduct independent research of poses that provide useful information for drawing and painting purposes.
• Receive instruction from professors on specific poses to take for each assignment.
• Maintain specific positions for periods of time required for proper instruction.
• Arrive to the classroom with enough time to prepare for duties.
• Keep personal appearance presentable and professional.

• Excellent communication skills; ability to effectively communicate information clearly.
• Ability to work with a high level of productivity and accuracy/attention to detail.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to initiate, establish, and foster communication and teamwork by maintaining a positive, cooperative, and productive work atmosphere within and outside the University.
• Adaptability to a heavily bureaucratic environment requiring regular interaction with multiple levels within the organization.
• Working knowledge, or ability to quickly learn, of university infrastructure, policies and procedures.

• Evidence of flexibility to move from one pose to another quickly and sustain energetic poses for 1–5 minutes.
• Evidence of ability to hold extended poses for 25 minutes without moving.
• Frequent standing, walking, reaching, bending, kneeling, stooping, twisting, crouching, climbing, balancing, seeing, talking, hearing, and manipulating objects.
• Mobility required to move materials 5 lbs. or less daily and 5–25 lbs. occasionally.

• Must be willing to travel and attend off‑site training programs for occasional professional development.
• Must be able to work additional hours and adjust working hours to meet special jobs.
• May be called back periodically to perform work as needed on an emergency basis.
• Must successfully pass a pre‑employment background check.

• Minimum:
  At least 18 years of age.
• Preferred:
  Previous modeling experience at an art institution or university/college.
