Supervisory Responsibilities:

Potentially, depending on assignment
Work Hours: Monday – Friday, either mornings only or afternoons only
Work Location: On‑campus; instructors assigned to classrooms across campus
Worker Status: Must be legally authorized to work in the United States without visa sponsorship

• Submit a letter detailing qualifications and interest in the position.

• Ability to pass a background check.
• Passion for teaching young students.
• At least 1 year of experience with the subject matter.
• In the last year of undergraduate or 20+ years old (subject to clarification).
• Ability to create age‑appropriate engaging curriculum for a 5‑day class.

• College graduate.
• At least 1 year of professional teaching experience in a classroom setting.
• Background teaching students with physical or mental disabilities.

10% Duties:

• Create an age‑appropriate curriculum that fits within the time limitations and encourages critical thinking and project‑based learning.
• Prepare the classroom and supplies before the beginning of class.
• Arrive 15 minutes before class start and remain until all students are safely en route to their next activity or under the supervision of the on‑site facilitator.

85% Duties:

• Provide a learning climate that respects the rights of all persons without discrimination.
• Complete daily attendance records and report missing or late students, and any student illness or injury (even minor).
• Manage classroom behavior and uphold camp policies, including internet use policies, safety guidelines, prohibition of personal electronic devices in class, and guest policy.
• Maintain communication with the program coordinator.
• Provide the program coordinator with detailed day‑by‑day lesson plans for the four‑day‑long course.
• Provide a materials list to the program coordinator.
• Supervise the use of university spaces and equipment, limiting class to pre‑approved spaces and equipment per arrangements, and report any damage.
• Communicate any accommodation or allergy needs to the program coordinator.
• Report unsafe conditions, equipment, or situations immediately.
• Be present in the classroom for the entirety of class or arrange for temporary coverage if the instructor needs to exit.

5% Duties:

• Respond to all emails and communications regarding the position in a timely manner.
• Regularly check email for important communications.
• Participate in the required instructor orientation.
