The Musical Advisor directs and oversees student performers, musicians, and volunteers involved in musical productions, providing guidance and support throughout rehearsals and performances. The advisor works closely with students, school administration, and staff to ensure operations align with ASD standards and school expectations.
ESSENTIALDUTIESANDRESPONSIBILITIESToperformthisjobsuccessfully,anindividualmustbeabletoperformeachessentialdutysatisfactorily with or without reasonable accommodation.
- Holds organized, supervised practice as the program requires.
- Teaches the skills necessary to participate and be successful.
- Develops production goals and objectives and daily plans.
- Works with Director to maintain lines of communication with students, staff, and parents.
- Provides for the safety and security of all students.
- Follows all specified standards, policies, and procedures of the building and Ashland School District.
- Actively encourages student participation.
- Maintains a positive working relationship with the administration and community.
- Provides proper care, maintenance, and security of facilities, equipment, and supplies from the first day of the season until the cycle of responsibility is completed.
- Attend work regularly and punctually.
- Annually pass the District's required online training by the District's assigned due-date.
- While working collaboratively with others, implements decisions within ASD established policies and procedures.
- Professionally represent the school and the District in interactions with parents, community, staff, and students and resolves conflict in a professional manner.

- Background in a related field.
- Experience working with high school students in leadership, advisory, or extracurricular settings.
