Be a problem solver, trusted advisor, and partner to the people and businesses in our Key Bank communities. As a Teller, you provide excellent client service in‑person by welcoming new and existing clients to the Bank, assisting them with account transactions and servicing needs, identifying and resolving client servicing issues, listening for financial needs, and transitioning clients to a banker for deeper financial wellness conversations.
EssentialFunctions
- Embodies a strong client experience culture, being present with every client and teammate and realizing the impact on their day, personally, professionally, and financially.
- Assumes responsibility for the efficient, effective, and accurate performance of teller functions in an in‑person branch setting.
- Proactively identifies and resolves client servicing issues, escalating as needed.
- Listens for clues for financial wellness opportunities during conversations and appropriately transitions clients to a banker.
- Assists clients in achieving their financial goals and objectives through the use of financial wellness tools.
- Attends and participates in in‑person morning huddles and end‑of‑day debriefs.
- Follows compliance, audit, and security procedures, and balances the cash drawer within guidelines.
- Reviews and maintains knowledge of product guides, fees, and policies to stay current on offerings.
- Works on Saturdays as directed by management.
- Performs other duties as assigned; duties may change at any time with or without notice.
- Complies with all Key Bank policies and procedures, including professional conduct, ethics, conflict‑of‑interest avoidance, and acting in the best interests of clients.
High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent business experience (required).
Work Experience- Experience in a client service role (required).
- Experience in cash handling (required).
- General understanding of PC with Windows‑based applications and calculators (required).
Notary License (preferred).
Skills- Knowledgeable about the client’s accounts and business with the bank and uses sound judgment with clients and transactions.
- Exhibits strong sales and service skills, presenting products and services while proactively educating clients on available access channels such as ATM, Online, and Telephone Banking.
- Strong work ethic and high integrity.
- Excellent time‑management skills.
- Ability to accurately and securely process cash transactions, including deposits, withdrawals, and balancing cash drawers.
- Ensures accuracy and maintains organized records.
- Follows banking regulations and security procedures.
- Identifies opportunities to discuss financial wellness with clients and guides them to appropriate resources or bank services.
- Detects and prevents fraudulent activities.
- Collaborates effectively with teammates to ensure smooth operations.

Physical DemandsConsumer Retail – Prolonged standing (5‑8 hours per day), frequent use of hands to manipulate/grasp objects, ability to communicate face‑to‑face and on the phone with clients, occasional bending and lifting from floor height, frequent forward reach, frequent lifting of 1‑10 lbs., and occasional lifting up to 30 lbs.
Driving RequirementsAbility to occasionally operate a motor vehicle with a valid driver’s license.

Compensation and BenefitsThis position is eligible to earn a base hourly rate in the range of $18.00 – $23.08 per hour. Placement within the pay range may differ based on skills, experience, and geographic location. Compensation also includes incentive compensation such as production, commission, and/or discretionary incentives.
