Customer EngagementOffer personal assistance, listen actively to customer needs, confirm understanding, demonstrate knowledge or seek an expert, walk customer to the item, confirm the customer’s satisfaction, offer further assistance, and offer a friendly parting comment. Employees may not solicit gratuities and must decline all gratuities offered initially; if the customer insists, an employee may choose to accept the gratuity.
FacilityMaintain a neat, clean, and safe sales floor and public areas; keep customer supplies, merchandising, signage, and facilities accessible.
Customer Experience- Greet and interact with customers in a friendly way that shows you appreciate their patronage.
- Ensure that customers are attended to with a high level of service and professionalism.
- Offer help without being asked and stay alert to the customer's needs.
- Continuously keep the customer in your sphere of awareness.
- In each customer interaction, seek opportunities to provide extraordinary service.
- Be familiar with Co‑op policies and products to answer questions promptly and courteously, referring when necessary.
- Practice positive, polite, and clear phone skills.
- Communicate customer feedback and important information to buyers or managers.
- Ensure full, attractive, product displays are maintained.
- Rotate and face product to ensure freshness and visibility.
- Ensure shelf signage is accurate, current, complete, and placed correctly according to department procedures.
- Order product as assigned following department procedures and guidelines.
- Receive product following store protocols regarding piece count, damage, signature, and coding as required.
- Ensure accurate and sanitary product processing, packaging, and pricing according to department procedures, Organic Handling, and Department of Agriculture regulations.
- Maintain all work spaces in a clean and orderly manner.
- Advise Manager of department repair and maintenance needs.
- Keep all displays and customer areas clean and organized.
- Ensure sanitation for product processing and handling according to Department of Agriculture, Organic Handling Standards, and department procedures.
- Follow health, sanitation, and safety procedures at all times.
- All employees are encouraged to help out with store‑wide tasks as needed.
- Interact positively and respectfully with coworkers, attempting to resolve conflicts and seeking assistance when necessary.
- Approach work with enthusiasm and openness to having fun while maintaining productivity and professionalism.
- Contribute to the team by encouraging open communication and setting an example for shift responsibilities (punctuality, thoroughness, organization, positive attitude).
- Treat all coworkers with respect and lend a hand willingly when needed.
- Give and receive constructive criticism and praise, including written evaluations.
- Keep informed by reading department and store logs, meeting minutes, and bulletin boards.
- Inform Manager of any workplace issue or problem observed.
- Participate in employee and Manager Performance Evaluations in your Department.
- Attend team and staff meetings, workshops, and trainings as scheduled.
- Follow store and departmental procedures and guidelines and the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Perform other tasks as requested by a Manager or Supervisor.
- Lift and/or move up to 40 pounds frequently, with 60 pound lifting occasionally required.
- Stand and walk for the entire shift.
- Must be able to work in a cold environment.
