The Accounting Manager is responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations and ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).

This position supports both month and year end close processes, all areas of financial reporting, account reconciliations, audit activities, and budgeting support. This role works closely with both local operations management and corporate leadership to maintain accurate financial records, supports operational decision-making, and improve accounting processes and reporting efficiency while addressing tight deadlines.

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Manage the accounting team with responsibility for general accounting, cash management, accounts receivable and accounts payable, payroll support and general ledger activities.
  • Oversee the monthly and quarterly closing process ensuring all accounts and reporting systems are following appropriate GAAP, regulatory requirements, and company policies.
  • Present financial reports in an accurate and timely manner, and clearly communicate monthly, quarterly and annual financial results to the management team.
  • Assists accounting team in the day-to-day operations of the department, including payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable, equipment fleet management, inventory management and general ledger.
  • Monitor and analyze department work to develop more efficient procedures and use of resources while maintaining a high level of accuracy.
  • Assist and coordinate periodic and annual audits.
  • Comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings, including sales and use tax.
  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets, forecasts, and financial analyses to support operational and financial planning.
  • Maintain internal control systems and safeguards over all assets, revenues, and costs.
  • Recommend and assist with implementing process improvements to enhance the accuracy, efficiency, and reliability of financial reporting and accounting operations.
  • Oversee financial and operational systems to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Develop and maintain ERP based reports and tools to improve visibility, streamline accounting processes, and support management reporting needs.
  • Assist with ERP system maintenance, upgrades, testing, and process enhancements as needed.
  • Other projects and initiatives that drive organizational goals and results.

Education, Certifications &

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or business administration, or equivalent business experience.
  • 5+ years of accounting experience, preferably in the construction services industry.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Above average knowledge of Microsoft Office, Accounting systems and software;
    Quick Books a plus.
