Job Summary
We are seeking a Manufacturing Systems Analyst to support and maintain an in‑house, custom-built system used across our manufacturing operations in Ashland, VA.
This role is focused on hands‑on SQL work, system troubleshooting, and supporting day‑to‑day production needs. The ideal candidate is comfortable working directly with internal databases, investigating data issues, and partnering with manufacturing and operations teams to keep systems reliable and accurate.
Primary Responsibilities- Support and maintain a custom, in‑house manufacturing system used on the production floor
- Use SQL to investigate, validate, and correct data issues (e.g., mismatches, missing data, failed transactions)
- Troubleshoot system issues impacting operations and production workflows
- Partner with manufacturing, operations, and leadership to resolve day‑to‑day system problems
- Assist with ongoing ERP system upgrades and backend improvements
- Document system behavior, recurring issues, and fixes for internal reference
- Provide limited, basic IT support tied directly to system usage (can be trained)
- Experience working with SQL in a hands‑on capacity (queries used to validate, troubleshoot, or fix data)
- Background supporting internal business systems (ERP, MES, CMMS, WMS, or custom applications)
- Experience working in or closely supporting a manufacturing, industrial, or production environment
- Strong troubleshooting mindset and comfort working independently on ambiguous issues
- Bachelor’s degree preferred, but experience and competency matter more than degree
- Experience supporting in‑house or homegrown ERP systems
- Exposure to manufacturing execution systems (MES) or production systems
- Experience working with SQL Server and SQL Server Management Studio
- Familiarity with legacy or internally developed applications
- Basic scripting or automation experience (Python, similar)
- Experience supporting production or shop‑floor users
This role is based onsite at a manufacturing facility in Ashland, VA, supporting both office staff and production floor operations. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 7:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. The environment combines typical office settings with time spent on the production floor, working closely with operations teams and production equipment integrated with ERP and other IT systems.
The position involves working with Windows and Linux systems, SQL Server, ASP‑based applications, ERP platforms, network infrastructure, and Office 365.
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Ashland, VA.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $75,000.00 - $75,000.00 per hour.
