The Patrick Henry Family YMCA is seeking a part time dependable and self-motivated individual who can assist in ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the facility. This part time position starts at $13.00 per hour based on experience. This individual needs to be available on evening and weekends.

DUTIES of a Housekeeping Technician
  • Must maintain and keep building facility and property in clean and orderly condition such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming in addition to gathering and emptying trash.
  • Ensure all restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, program rooms, fitness centers and outside grounds are clean and safe.
  • Move furniture and equipment as required to properly and thoroughly clean areas including windows.
  • Assist with setting up rooms for meetings and events and breaking down of seating and equipment.
  • Ensure bathroom supplies including and not limited to, toilet tissue, towels, and soap are refilled.
  • Notify managers regarding the need for repairs.
  • Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
  • Establishes goals, clarifies tasks, plans work and actively participates in meetings.
  • Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants.
  • Able to operate motorized and non-motorized equipment.
QUALIFICATIONS Of a Housekeeping Technician
  • Minimum of 16 years of age.
  • Reliable transportation.
  • Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals.
  • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds.
  • Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
  • Occasional work outside the facility to clean the facility grounds such as removal of debris and during inclement weather requiring snow removal.
  • Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours.
