The Patrick Henry Family YMCA is seeking a part time dependable and self-motivated individual who can assist in ensuring the cleanliness and appearance of the facility. This part time position starts at $13.00 per hour based on experience. This individual needs to be available on evening and weekends.
DUTIES of a Housekeeping Technician- Must maintain and keep building facility and property in clean and orderly condition such as sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, and vacuuming in addition to gathering and emptying trash.
- Ensure all restrooms, locker rooms, hallways, stairwells, program rooms, fitness centers and outside grounds are clean and safe.
- Move furniture and equipment as required to properly and thoroughly clean areas including windows.
- Assist with setting up rooms for meetings and events and breaking down of seating and equipment.
- Ensure bathroom supplies including and not limited to, toilet tissue, towels, and soap are refilled.
- Notify managers regarding the need for repairs.
- Works effectively with people of different backgrounds, abilities, opinions, and perceptions.
- Establishes goals, clarifies tasks, plans work and actively participates in meetings.
- Delivers excellent service to all members, guests, and program participants.
- Able to operate motorized and non-motorized equipment.
- Minimum of 16 years of age.
- Reliable transportation.
- Ability to safely use cleaning chemicals.
- Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic backgrounds.
- Ability to speak concisely and effectively communicate.
- Occasional work outside the facility to clean the facility grounds such as removal of debris and during inclement weather requiring snow removal.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for many hours.
