The Department of Public Works is seeking a highly skilled and motivated professional to lead the business and administrative operations of one of our Divisions as an Administrative Services Manager
. This key role is responsible for supervising, managing, and performing business, financial, budgetary, human resources, procurement, and administrative functions that keep our operations running efficiently and effectively. Working independently under limited supervision, this role reports major activities and strategic updates through periodic meetings with leadership. The ideal candidate is a strong communicator, strategic thinker, and collaborative leader.

Minimum Requirements- Bachelor's degree in Business, Accounting, Finance, Business Management or a closely related field of study from an accredited college or university.
- Three (3) years of full-time equivalent administrative and financial experience or a closely related experience.
- One (1) year of full-time equivalent supervisory experience.
- A combination of education and experience may be considered for this position.
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and must have and maintain a satisfactory driver’s record based on the City of Hampton’s criteria.
- Must successfully pass a background check related to this position prior to any offer of employment or promotion.
- May require working beyond a standard 40-hour work week to include evenings and weekends.
- May require some local travel and use of a personal vehicle.
- The incumbent may be considered “essential personnel” during City emergency situations or at the direction of the City Manager which may include long hours and unusual schedules.
